Staples Tune-Up
I have a buddy who works at Staples. He did a "tune-up" to a PC according to company policy. Directly after the tune-up he called me in to fix some other issues he could not solve. I was appalled at what they do for a tune-up. Basically Staples did a Disk Cleanup and Disk Defrag. The system was not scanned for viruses/malware, hard drive was not scanned for integrity, additional temp files were not cleared, Windows updates not run and the PC was not cleared of dust. There are a host of other things my company does during a tune-up that Staples would not even consider. I guess my definition of a tune-up and Staples is a bit different Also, the Staples in my home town does not supply their tech people with high speed Internet. Therefore, they will not spend too much time looking for fixes, updates and patches on the Internet as it is painfully slow. My friend said that corporate was not willing to spend the money for the luxury of high-speed Internet.
