SpaceX Falcon Heavy to launch tonight(?)

It's the landing(s) (x3) that are even more impressive than the lift off.
Ain't it just.

While it's not really an enormous technological leap to go from launching a rocket to landing one, seeing those boosters return and perform a successful vertical landing seems like something from a sci-fi movie.

I'd love to watch this launch but it looks like it's going to take place in the early hours (UK time) :(

Awesome!!!! All three home safe. Looks like one of the twins was leaning a bit after shutdown - heh. Waiting to see better video of the center booster land.

Yea it make you wonder whey NASA never used this approach. Could have saved them millions $$$.

Honestly, I don't think NASA could have pulled this off (and even if it was possible it would have cost 10X as much and they would have never been able to get the budget for that). Their infrastructure has way too much baggage carried forward from 60 years of operation and government oversight. Plus, the tech to do what SpaceX is doing hasn't been around all that long anyway.
