Should I charge one price to do a basic scan and then charge extra for a full configuration of the program and system OR should i incorporate all of the services in one and charge one flat premium price?

Configuration Covers
Schedule Update
Schedule Scan
Configure Antivirus CPU priotity (depending on speed of customer's PC and time scan is scheduled for)
Configure Windows Update (for security holes and exploits)
Configure Firewall

Includes complimentary check up and scan in one week

When I install AV software for customers I remove the old version, install, activate, and update definitions on the new version. Easy peasy.

A lot of the newer versions update and scan when the system is idle so there's not a need for the extra configurations. One might think that you're doing extra work to justify a price.

If I install an AV then all the above is standard and rightly expected by the customer!

I charge 1 hour + cost of the AV itself, I'll do all the above including a quick scan, then I'll explain to client what I've setup and just before I leave set off a full scan and ask them to leave it running and then call next day to see if it brought up any issues.

What your proposing is not going to come across very well to a client.

"I'll do a basic setup for you, if you pay me more I'll do it properly" is how this comes across - Think from a clients veiwpoint, they pay you to set up a good protection, not leave them vulnerable for an extra cost.

I figured as much that's why I asked if i should charge one price. Thanks for your input :)
