Remote PC Repair Software Question

I am looking for some feed back on Remote PC Repair software packages; I am considering purchasing for my remote PC repair services. I have looked at several packages like WebEx, Syberfit, 4Remote Support, LogMein, DualDesk, and Advantig OneClick also by DualDesk. After looking at all of these offerings I have narrow my choices down to DualDesk Expert edition and OneClick. Has anyone used these titles and what was the Pro’s and Con’s you felt each presented? I am also open to looking at any other software suggestions my main reasons for selecting DualDesk were their one time fee pricing structure and the fact that when you called you got a human Being that was willing to spend time with you answering your questions about the company and their products.

I've never used DualDesk Expert, but I do use Oneclick and I can highly recommend it. I like the fact that is runs as a system startup service even in safe mode, however this feature doesn't work in Vista yet. It's simple to use and you can password protect the file which is a nice feature. Oneclick also has a one time fee of $100 I think, which seems to be loads cheaper than DualDesk!

Is there Scalability, That is the Question

The main concern is that Oneclick is not upgradable like their other titles, so scalability become a concern as we grow will OneClick grow with us, is Avantig committed to making sure that OneClick will handle growing amounts of work in a timely manner. But then again maybe I am worrying to much, after all the cost is less than two billable hours of service so it could be considered a disposable tool. Also will we be able to customize it so that it can become a private label option ?

Any way thanks for the reply

OneClick By Avantig Is the wayto go

Thanks Simmy just downloaded Oneclick, and will pay the $100.00 US next week.

how would 1 click knows if you are using it for commercial use or not?!

I guess you could use the downloadable version in a commercial environment, but it is not customizable and keeps reminding both parties it is for noncommercial use.

I have used it for about four years and I love it. They
keep it updated and it is super easy to use. It has a lot
of nice features. Download it and try it out.:)

Every time I get ready to pull the trigger, I have the same conundrum (is that spelled right) Oneclick vs RSS. Without a doubt, OneCLick is the best buy, but RSS is very nice and support and upgrades way ahead.

Got to make a call and get on with it..........

I've been testing it out by using it for in office repairs since Simmy mentioned it a while back, and overall it's a pretty nice product for $99. Before I was using TightVNC for internal work and it was a bit of a pain compared to using OneClick. It really rounds some rough edges when dealing with VNC that I could see being highly beneficial when dealing with customers.

The only thing that's stopped me from buying it is I'd like to find a better solution for something that runs all the time, and I can connect to when I want from anywhere. I don't do any remote access work right now because I'd prefer to interact with the customers in person, but in the near future I want to start selling maintenance contracts and do the majority of the work from home. OneClick really seems to be setup for single session type interaction which isn't really a fault, but it's not what I'm looking for in an overall solution. However I need to look at it's repeater functionally before I write it off since it might do what I want.

I'd have to say it does what it's meant to do very well, and for a reasonable price. You can't really go wrong with that.

Remote Questions

I had a lot questions about OneClick, I think for those who have questions should contact Avantig they will spend time with you. I will be setting up my software on a dedicated pc (P4,2.4 CPU,2Gig of Ram and a 40 gig hd) I will be able log into that mach. and service my customers from anywhere in the world.

I bought this a couple years ago too, and like the capability. However I find it to be too quirky to be considered reliable, and not so easy to use the more 'advanced' features. It also seems like no one follows the forum for this software any longer. It used to be active but it's like there was a mass exodus for some reason.

I dunno... I bought it, and have used it a few times.. but there has to be something out there that is more stable and reliable. Nothing is worse than touting your 'remote capabilities' and then when someone tries to use it having to troubleshoot why it isn't working.

All in all, i cant find anything better than LogMeIn Rescue, but I just can't justify $130 a month. That's insane :(
