Ready for 1809?

I have been keeping up "sorta" with Win 10 1809 and since the current belief is that 17763 seems to be the RTM unless there is another show stopper like when 1803 was released.

Imaged my main computer and got the esd file and did an inplace upgrade and everything seems to be ok so far. Seems snappy and compleate.
My only gripe is that I use the dark theme and it has the high contrast look to it.

Lot of work to do before I use it myself. Looking forward to ripping the guts out of it.

Clients now get all the bells and whistles because I don't really care anymore. They can set their own privacy options (or not).
They can be Microsoft "cash cows" if they want.

Winreducer? Never heard of it. Just stopped at their website for a minute and saw nothing there that explained what it is or does. (I'd consider that a fail for their website - heh.)

Not saying where I work only that we are no different than anywhere else. Each version of Windows 10 is its own separate Operating System with different support, and tracking it is a PITA... updates are NOT my department.... but judging from my own queries, we aren't ready, lol... Look at this... Still have 400+ out of date computers running Windows 10 1507.

If you're still on 1507 you need to get to work. Each version is only supported for 24 months, now 18 months.

My managed clients are all using GPOs to put them on the business track, that basically leaves them 1 version behind. So I'm actually overseeing the 1803 rollout now. 1809 won't see any of my production environments for another 5-6 months. But my personal gear will be on 1809 as soon as I can get it there after the official release.

Only standing issue with 1803 is Epson's fault. The Epson Scan application isn't compatible, you have to put it on Windows 7 compatibility to get it to work and even then it's inconsistent. So I'm hoping they fixed that mess because when 1803 first rolled.... it was a pain rolling people back. Now, I don't have a choice.

If you're still on 1507 you need to get to work. Each version is only supported for 24 months, now 18 months.

It won't effect most on here but they just changed support dates for Enterprise & Education. Starting with 1809 next month it's 18 months for March releases, 30 months for September releases. So September builds are essentially LTS versions.

Wouldn't mind the same approach being adopted for Pro.

That's not the correct site.
This is the right one.

Perhaps Department of Health and Environmental Control in South Carolina is a clue...

I'm on the fence on whether I want this update roll out to crap things out like previous ones or not. I mean it brings in some business when these updates wreck a customers PC, but on the other hand it can be quite irritating.

I offer every one an after upgrade tune up for a decent price. I get several takers on this. I have some already lined up for me to upgrade and tune up already.

To be fair, I think you have a bit too many icons for it to know what to do with. I don't see how those icons could have been on that monitor, alone, in the first place.
