RapidSpar Demo Program

Just got the demo in testing it now so far it picked up a drive i could not see in Windows or Linux and is recovering files i need for a doctor good chance that i will be buying it as i get avg 3 drives a week for data recovery and might get into data recovery.
Closest place is Toronto sure i will still need to send some to a place with clean room but with dead motor it can't cut it in some instances.
There must be a battery in the unit i pulled out the power adapter by accident display was still running good idea in-case power cuts outs out for a few seconds.

I don't believe I'm getting 3 drives a week from you. ;)
No, there is no battery, as far as I know. The unit gets enough power from the USB 3 connection to keep the displaying going, but not enough to power the connected hard drives.

So far i am impressed it can recover single files or just photos or documents any file or folder you select not just a hardware imager works very fast 300x faster than software by my tests.
Got a macbook pro ran smart test long -short, and surface test it showed NO errors repaired corrupt file then it started working, laptop came back put it on test bench ran smart still no errors ran hd diagnostic software no errors.
Hooked it up to rapidspar it said there was a problem with drive after running diagnostics doing an image now to new hard drive i can see many uses for this tool in diagnosing bad hard drives.

Thanks Vlad for the demo program :)

As soon (or if) the whole $ > £ fiasco calms down it will be on our list of things to buy.

But at the moment Brexit is destroying us!

So... If I was interested in getting into data recovery (not actually physically opening the drives) do you think this would be the best product to invest into? Its close to £2,500 with the extras.

It depends on how far you want to get into data recovery. It is not designed for data recovery professionals, who would more likely invest about $10,000USD for PC3000+DE.

Probably 60% of the time, we have to open drives here.
Similar range here... primary reason is because end users and [no offense intended] inexperienced computer repair techs push the drives too hard, leading to severe mechanical failures and subsequently media damage. Every day, there is at least one unfortunate end user whose files went to dust.

More specifically, the problem with pushing the drives too hard is two fold:
1) Creates more damage (bad sectors, firmware & mechanical damage of various degrees), thus increases recovery complexity, and
2) It increases the price/quote

These circumstances make it unaffordable for the end user to proceed with the service. No-win for the end-user, computer repair shop or the data recovery specialist. Everybody involved wastes time and resources, therefore no gain. Sad.

Should, either, the end-user or computer repair shop wisely decide to forward the service to the specialist, then the higher chances the end user will get their files recovered, the computer shop will get their referral payment and the data recovery specialist makes some money - everybody wins/happy.

Less individual greed, more transparency and honesty make a huge difference.

Thanks very much for the replies.

I've signed-up for a demo unit.

In your opinions do you think that this is a good starter product to get into data recovery or is there something else? £2500+ is a big investment!

About as good as it can get without investing more money, time and resources. This is why it is tailored for computer shops.
or is there something else? £2500+ is a big investment!
Anything else, on the lower end of quality, is twice as expensive and not tech friendly.

I think your math is off...I thought the RapidSpar costs about $2000USD, which is about £1400, if my google conversion is correct.

It really depends on how far you want to go with data recovery. If you just want to do as much as you can, with the best results, without making things worse for your data recovery lab partner, this is the product for you.

Not only will it help you improve your success rate with the current data recovery workload you are getting, it will allow you to confidently advertise data recovery, especially if you couple it with a trustworthy data recovery lab you can outsource anything out of your scope at a reasonable price.
