/rant Windows 7 - the last Windows I'll ever use.

I have a lot of clients running 10, I just don't use it personally though I support clients that do. I was merely saying that 10 isn't as easy as previous OS's to get to grips with as an end user, I find 8.1 flows better than 10 - so I'll be sticking with 8.1 for now. don't worry I'm pretty current on the latest stuff, I have around 4 Server 2016 servers for example. I just think 10 is a bit of a mess.

It's what ever works best for you but I think the consensus would be that 8/8.1 is the mess which they straightened out with Win10. Win10 has a UI more friendly and comfortable to Win7/WinXP users.

Fairly, I think 8.1 seems more stable than 10 and that is the biggest gripe! 8/8.1 you'd still have to roll it with ClassicShell for it to be functional to the end user, in that respect 10 is better.

Sigh - and I suppose you guys waited until the last day of WinXP support to move on to Win7 too.

Win7 feels like an old hack. Things like DISM don't even work in it. That's not even mentioning the 190+ patches just to make it run? I could ramble on but you've heard it all before......

Don't know what to tell you?
My fully patched, UTM protected Win 7 systems clip along better than many of the NEW windows 10 systems I work on every day.
Windows 10 has so many privacy concerns, bloatware that can't be removed without breaking the thing, myriad confusing settings that get reverted back after every "build" etc. I could ramble on but you've heard it all before....

But Windows 10 is shiny and customers want it installed and are willing to pay for it. Who am I to say no? :D

Let me edit to say that:

...customers want it installed and are willing to pay for it... and continue to pay for it when it <explecitive> up.
