Does anyone know a good program for diagnosing mobo issues. I have been getting a ton of random BSOD's in Windows 7 HP x64. I have 8GB DDR3, i5 3.2 CPU, Biostar H55A+ MOBO, XFX 5770 1GB DDR5 GPU. I have tried re-installing windows, tried different hdd, did memtest and mem is ok, updated graphics drivers, etc. Any suggestions on what to do next. I'm seriously thinking bad mobo. Would like to run a test on mobo but don't know of any good software to do so

And yet another one...are you thinking it is memory or drivers? i have updated all drivers via windows update, havent gone to manufacturers website yet.

Running memtest right now...I will let it run over night then check manufacturer's websites for all current drivers...any other things i should check

...i have updated all drivers via windows update...

I see your problem.

Never ever use Windows update to take care of your drivers. It will cause all sorts of mayhem.
Seriously, I have seen plenty of modems and audio cards that stop working after getting screwed over by a Microsoft driver.

I would update your chipset drivers, NIC, audio and graphics card drivers from either the mobo manufacturer and ATI website.

Memtest has been running for over 4 hours and no errors...should i stop it and go grab drivers or let it run longer...Any chance its the mobo...been a lot of weird things going on...like pcie vid card not working (works in other system), system wouldnt boot unless i pulled the pcie vid card out, etc.

Ok i updated vid card driver from ATI's website, chipset from Intel, LAN & Audio from Intel, and still receiving BSOD....Here are the latest BSOD's i have received...Any insight would be helpful as i cant seem to figure this one out

Are you overclocking anything on that computer? If so stop and see if the same problems persists.

You've already tested the memory, next I'd say it is a hard drive failing.

I've yet to see a driver problem cause different BSoD's.

I said drivers because the first two were pointing towards it. Now they are just random. I hate those.

It is possible that the motherboard is acting up. Specifically that PCIx issue you mentioned as that has nothing to do with OS or drivers.

Boot into a Linux Live CD and do some regular tasks on it like browsing the web and such and see what happens. This will eliminate anything Windows being the cause.

Put some known good memory in that thing. See if it still BSOD's. If not, you've found your problem. As I've said before, I've not found a software test that I can really trust.

Firstly, run a chkdsk from a command prompt. Use /F, and /R
Tell it to schedule on next reboot, as it will ask, then reboot.

Also, ensure heat levels aren't getting up there. What does Coretemp have to say? I doubt it's CPU, but I'm still interested.

Have you got a spare drive you could chuck in and throw a quick rebuild onto?

Ok...So i have tried 3 different hard drives now....I have tried just one stick of ram today and now it just sits at the AMI BIOS Screen...Have run chkdsk /f /r multiple times and says it has found errors that it cannot fix. I have re-installed windows 7 3 times.....I have checked the health of each disk and all passed

I think I would clear the BIOS at this point. Have you also checked the output on the PSU?

This is sounding more and more like MB issue.

Check the memory voltages. The higher clocked models need higher than normal voltages to operate properly. I would check with the memory manufacturer to be sure.

Well re-installation of windows failed twice due to not being able to configure one or more devices...System sits on the BIOS screen forever before it actually begins to boot now...I have no clue...still looks like mobo to me
