I've been pretty busy, here. Most students at the university are home for the summer, but we're seeing a lot of people call us from a big advertising push we did a while ago. I did have a couple of slow days last week, but have since made up for it.
It has started to get busy for me this week but I've only been in business for two months so I don't really know the difference between busy and slow yet.
Last week was crazy busy, the week before was pretty slow, and this week seems about normal so far. I don't see a correlation with anything particular.
its been a bit crazy here. We have had alot of lightning storms and many many people have brought in their machines due to PSU failures and or fried boards. I don't even advertise anymore I let word of mouth do the work.
I'd say the last couple weeks have been pretty busy. Just got paid for an 8 camera security system I installed, and have 4 computers on my bench right now which is highly unusual since I fix almost everything on site. Picked up a new customer yesterday too through word of mouth so that's always good.
My last 4 June/July months were nearly dead. Historically slowest months of the year. This year, however, I have been very busy ... July will close out a record month. I am the busiest I've been in 4 years. I attribute it to the high gas prices and the economy ... very few folks going on vacation this year ... they're all sitting at home or at work using their machines. Plus we've had a lot of lightning storms come through
July is always dead for us, but this year was worse. Gotta think the economy has alot to do with it. Almost everyone who brought in a machine were trying to get a lower price on anything I quoted them. August usually picks up and then from then to next summer we do well.
But I really hope the economy picks back up, it sucks not being able to sell extras when people come in for a repair.
