I see the Tool that reads the xxxx-oem-xxxxxxxxx-xxxx and the info off the cd.

but I have came across some Computers that have the product sticker and it dose not have what it is... I know it XP, but what version..

all the sticker has is the

product ID:
a bar code
and a xxxxxx-xxx-xxx-xxx under the bar code.

and on the right side there is x10-60256

Is there a product ID sticker identification program?

I read that, and I dont see anything what helping me.

its on a labtop, and the Version( like Pro/home/etc) might got rubbed off,

I was looking for a program that If I enter part of the COA Number or something it would tell me what Version it went to.

so I can reinstall Windows. I have a OEM disk that you enter the Numbers from the sticker. but if the numbers are PRO and I try to install Home(because I dont know whats COA number are for). it will not take the key.

that means I have to try the Next Version of XP until the Key works...

I looked at that, and I cant Enter the Product Key from the Sticker.

I need a Program that I can Enter the 25 digit Product key and it tell me that Version of Windows it goes to.

because I found out what version the sticker went to. XP PRO.

but later when I get a PC. that Needs Nuke and paving, and the sticker is just showing the 25 digit key, and not xp, pro or home, or even Media Center.

it would save time...

thanks

Use the "An Installed OS" option on the Windows Version Identifier to enter the Product Key.

Why don't you search for the make and model number and the info from that should tell you what operating system it was shipped with.

.... now why I did not think about that... Google is good!

thanks for eveyones input.

I was thinking there was a program/web link that would let me see what the OS was by the sticker...

Might be something thats could be created.:rolleyes:

again thanks.

Glad you got it, remember produkey will work with the hard drive slaved/usbed to your tech computer if you select the source drive.

It goes without saying, but remember that OEM licenses are funny, you do not want to be installing the license on computers other than what it came on....
