Yeah we created a 10 step recovery handout for our clients with screenshots. We still give them the Windows disks and drivers but found most struggle with a full reload, or lose the disks and of course claim they never got them. We've been supplying the 10 step recovery method with new / refurb computers running Win7 and earlier for years. We get very few calls where customers can't follow the recovery steps. We learned Acronis version 11 is the best for this F11 recovery method (no installation required).
We've cussed plenty of issues with Acronis but that one feature we still like, especially with used systems or older customers that keep getting infected no matter what we show them. They drag them in, we F11 recover them and within 30 minutes they're back out the door to try again.
