I have been playing with different logo designs recently and have come up with one I think I like. I wanted to get your opinions on it. Thanks

I like your old one better, personally. Maybe you could put the 'power' symbol (black only) inside your old logo without resizing the logo.
Just a thought. I was actually admiring your logo earlier today when I saw it in the data recovery thread.

Here's a different version of the same one. Is it any better? Or still go back to old shape? The problem with the old one was it wasn't very smooth, but I can always go back and create thinner orbits.

That's a tough call. Several good choices. Whichever way you choose to go I'm eager to see the final result.
 
Any other opinions? I'd actually like to create some small spheres. One for each of the letters in the name. That way they would be clumped together like the nucleus of the atom. I'm not very good with the graphics software, though.
 
I like the old one better.

Remember, most of the time your logo is going to be very, very small (on a shirt, a business card, maybe a letterhead occasionally) so having those little nodes for electrons are not going to scale well.

I think it looks quite dated to be honest. The shadows are very much of a few years a go, as is the font. I think the atom icon is a bit thin and weak in the context of the more stylised, pumped-up design styles you see today. It looks home-made.

Personally I think you need to have a think about what you are trying to say with your logo, if anything. When I was coming up with my own designs, I wanted to present a friendly, fresh but professional image. So I thought I needed something bold, clean but a little bit cutesy. I wanted people visiting my site etc to think I was an professional firm but approachable company but I couldn't create that professional "sheen" I wanted.

So I got logobylogo to do mine. Cost £19. The first results they came up with were awful - just 70s style computer font with a stock icon. But with a couple of weeks of pushing back at them, they eventually put a proper designer on the case who came up with several designs I would have been happy with.

I'm not saying mine is the best logo out there but it's a whole lot better than the stuff I came up with.

Thanks for your honesty. I guess I'm not sure what I want to say with my logo. Well, I guess maybe I do, but I'm having a hard time tying it into my name. Right now the budget is really tight, so hiring someone to do it is out of the question until at least, after the 1st of the year. But I think my current logo looks horrible and I want to change it as quick as I can! Especially because I would really like to start branding a long term logo before Christmas so I can tie it into my Christmas promos I intend to run.

I want to make a statement that I'm professional, organized, and trustworthy. I want my logo to feel like a bigger company so the customers get that warm comfortable feeling with me knowing that their computer is in good hands and my service is well worth the money they are paying. But tying that in to Neutron Technologies is kind of hard. I've looked around and given a lot of thought as to what I could make out of Neutron and the only thing I can come up with is an atom.

The problem is that I am by no means a graphics designer. I can't draw on paper and being creative in graphics programs are even worse.

I'm willing to listen to and would greatly appreciate any tips, advice, direction, ideas, etc. that would help me improve and create a decent logo before December.

What does 19Euro convert to in US $?

It's not that I can't afford the 19, but you said you had problems pushing them to get yours done. I'd rather not have to deal with pushing them to put a good designer on it.
 
Ok, I finally broke down and paid a designer to create my logo. They sent me a multi layered PSD file, so I can change things like my font if needed. Please give me your opinions. Thanks.

SUCH a big improvement over the other ones.

How much did it cost out of interest?
