My Tools: Do I Need Anything Else?

So does it work as advertised? Just throw all my tech ISO's on there and select which one I want before boot? Windows disks, UBCD, Gparted ect?

Works as advertised. Two things to be aware of:

1) There's a max of 32 ISO images. On my zalman, I have install ISO images for XP (retail,OEM,Home,Pro,MCE), Universal Vista 32&64, Universal 7 32&64, a bunch of live CDs (UCBD4Win, Hirens, start-up repair, etc), Acronis boot CDs, etc. (Some have mentioned using SARDU to allow more than 32 CDs, but I haven't had the need to try it.)

2) the PC must have the ability to boot from a USB CD (most newer PCs can do this, but many older ones can not)

In addition, whatever HD space you don't use for storing ISO images, you can use as a regular ext USB hard drive for all the other stuff you want to have available. It's pretty neat.

As mentioned before, you will just naturally aquire tools as you go. One I did not see you mention that I use regularly is a USB to SATA/IDE also referred to as an Adapti Bridge for testing and recovering data from hard drives. This has proven to be extremley useful for me.

Good luck, have fun!

I didn't even think about noting that. I use mine every day. I actually have two different models as I sometimes get issues with one where the other will work.

This is usually how I slave a client drive to my workstation to back it up.
