Microsoft Facing $600m Lawsuit Over Windows 10 Upgrade

600 Mill or a Windows 7 license.... I wonder which way they'll go?

"Frank Dickman" lol... I'll bet they have fun with that!

"$6,000,000,000.00 (six hundred million dollars)". Funny how the placement of a comma and some zero's can change numbers, lol
This is actually 6 Billion.

600 Mill or a Windows 7 license
He has one, on the bottom of the computer, lol
"Frank Dickman" lol...
I lol'd too.
The complaint, which has been archived by Bleeping Computer, argues that the forced upgrade of Dickman's machine constituted a breach of his 14th Amendment Civil Rights, and that Microsoft should provide a replacement software code or face damages.[/QUOTE]

The 14th, lol.

he's unable to source a legitimate version of the software.

His google-fu is weak

LOL I didn't even notice that.

That's funny.....and a bit sad ....but funny all the same.

14th Amendment
“all persons born or naturalized in the United States,” which included former slaves recently freed. In addition, it forbids states from denying any person "life, liberty or property, without due process of law" or to "deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.” laws.”

Microsoft Licensing RE: Up Dates
The software periodically checks for system and app updates, and downloads and installs them for you. You may obtain updates only from Microsoft or authorized sources, and Microsoft may need to update your system to provide you with those updates. By accepting this agreement, you agree to receive these types of automatic updates without any additional notice.

I'm betting that Microsoft isn't going to issue a key code for 7.

It is an upgrade. There is no need to issue a key code. His system still has a valid license for Windows 7. I'm sure they'd send him not only a Windows 7 disk but an Acer restore disk.

14th Amendment. LOL. He has IMO a valid civil case for damages as does anyone that was forced into upgrading to Windows 10. There is also some merit to a criminal case against Microsoft for the deception involved in the whole GWX malware they shoved onto users. I could easily see a class action suit for several million dollars.

I bet they settle out of court with something like a shiny new laptop with a copy of Win 7 installed, some cash and an overseas holiday for his family.....
