Massive bug in IOS bricks devices just setting date

There is a massive bug in IOS that can brick a iphone or ipad if date is set to jan 1 1970 and turned off it may never turn on again.

This is true we had a customer today who had done just that. We tried everything and couldn't get it back on, just stuck on Apple logo.

I wouldn't call this a massive bug. It's actually kind of logical. iOS is based off of UNIX, and UNIX time starts in the 1970's.

Plus, if your that bored (and stupid) to go back to the 1970 on your phone (not that easy), then a computer repair person isn't the one to be contacting. My $0.02.

Bug? Yeah. Or perhaps unintended 'feature'.

Problem? Not really, unless you own a DeLorean (complete with flux capacitor) that you use it in.
