I've got a Win10 64bit laptop in. with an Advent touch Print AIO Printer (some rebadged Kodak)
Client was doing some printing, when printer "stopped" working... got an item stuck in the print queue. It wouldn't clear. He managed to eventually clear the item (unknown how) but now when you send something to print the job doesn't happen. If you pause the print queue it does appear, but then vanishes when you restart the job.

If you print a test page using the AIO software troubleshooter it prints. Attempt anything via windows normal it doesn't.

Things I have tried:
stop/start spooler
delete spl and shd files
Windows Print troubleshooter (can't see a problem)
Delete printer reinstall.
uninstall /reinstall software
Firmware upgrade (none available)

Deleted USB drivers reinstalled
Update all drivers on Laptop

Laptop will print to other printers fine.
Scan works fine on this printer

SFC /scannow - no problems detected.

What have I missed? short of reinstalling windows?

You might be right about no Win 10 compatibility. That OS is not listed as supported here - in fact, I can't see anything later than Win 7 listed, and that was back in 2012, according to their site.

yea weird it worked fine before though.. It is ancient, I was just trying to save the customer some money because they have about £80 worth of ink for it :(

Bit of a long-shot....have you checked to see whether there were any Windows updates immediately prior to this problem starting? System restore might also be worth a shot, as @Computer Bloke says.

This post reminded me of my university days when I had control over the computer lab print queues. Every now and then I'd see a friend's name in the queue and I'd delete it and go watch them scratch their head wondering why it wouldn't print, while everyone else's jobs were going through without any issue.

Is there a specific tweak you have in mind? Or just run them all and see if anything changes?

Mahalo,

Harry Z
Running them all is never a bad thing (so far!), but there are - from memory - a couple of printer-specific 'fixes' - mostly re-registering files (again - from memory - feel free to correct me, someone)

We had a shiny new Hayes 300 baud modem in the computer lab. I remember writing a little program to randomly call my professor in his office a couple of times a day. He got an earful of connection noises and I got a good laugh for about a week. Today, I'd probably be arrested for stalking for a stunt like that... Don't any of you young 'uns get any ideas, now.
