I think what he means its it not right to tell everyone not to use a brand or company's product just because you dont like it, I don't like HP but that doesn't stop me form selling HP Printers when requested, I will just recommend a different brand like Canon or Epson when I'm asked what I would use/recommend then I let the client make the decision.
To complain about and blackball Microsoft because your techs can't figure out the proper procedure for re-installing Windows 7 on a Dell laptop is silly at best.
I just talk to the techs. They got that information from Dell tech support. So I don't know if Dell has a different licensing agreement with MS or if its just their crappy "in a far land" help desk. The tech elevated the call through three people and was told the same thing by every person and the last of three people we talked to were English speaking first language. The first two were India-n. What they are saying is that from now on any hardware replacement requiring a new installation requires a new COA.
I guess I need to have them call MS to activate it and see what happens.
