Iphone5 Holder/Adapter for Mazda-3

Yep. But the one I ordered did not have the ball and socket to allow movement. I'm sure that's a big reason for the price difference. After looking at the comments I think I'll cancel what I ordered and get the model you linked to. I think standing further away from the vent is better as noted by some of the reviewers.
Link to WizGear web site in case we want to look into other models.
I sent them an Email asking if they ship to Canada.

Edit: I kinda like the idea of mounting on the dash but the infotainment system (see first post) takes up too much space (I think).
On the dash would be higher so I would not have to look down to the air vent.
That would be better for my neck.
A CD mount would be less intrusive but way too low.

I don't drink and drive.
Besides up here it is more likely to be a deer or moose.
I really did not mean to infer that you did. Sorry.
We have plenty of deer here in South Texas to avoid. Plus the fracking jaywalkers who do not use the crosswalks. Seems like every time I check the local news another one is killed crossing the street.

No offense taken at all.
I was smiling when I answered.

BTW - I don't have the fancy sound system or dual A/C controls.
Wizgear does ship to Canada!
I really don't understand the apples to apples + 30% exchange rate difference in price.
I.E. $80 CDN vs $9 USD.
I suppose the seller on Amazon.ca could really be ripping us Canadians off!

I just recently went through 6 different cell phone mounts to try and find the right one for my iPhone 6 Plus. I drive a 2002 GMC Yukon which does NOT have the infotainment system so YMMV. I tried: vent, dash mount, window mount, cigarette lighter mount (2 different ones), and CD mount. I drove around with all of them for various amounts of time, some a lot shorter than others.

The vent, dash and window all were very shortlived. Vent wouldn't stay put and I was honestly worried about the air flow onto my phone. The dash and window both were way too distracting as they were right below my rear view mirror. The first cigarette lighter wasn't strong enough to hold the phone and it leaned all over the place. The second cig lighter one ALMOST was my favorite, but it too wiggled out of it's slot after awhile.

Finally landed on this CD mount one and totally love it. I use my phone for navigation and use an aux to USB cord connected to my aftermarket stereo to stream the XM app on my phone. I never use my CD player, in fact I didn't even know my stereo had one as it was covered with a flip up piece of plastic which I had to break off to install the mount.

Cool.
Where is it in proximity to other controls on the dash?
Any blockage?

My CD slot is not high enough (see this picture).
It is the slot under the climate controls.

I went out to my truck to grab a pic. Mine is much higher than yours. Probably closer to 18 inches higher. IMG_5054.JPG

There is a company called ProClipUsa that does custom ones. Had the cd mount not worked out I was going to rip my dash off and install one of theirs. I still might actually. It looks pretty decent in the pictures. Their site is www.proclipusa.com. I looked up your rig and they use the crease in the dash underneath the vents and immediately to the right of the steering wheel.

Thank you for all of the above!
It looks like yours is blocking a fair amount of climate and audio controls, no?
The picture of my car above seems to just cover the control for the driver's seat warmer.
So, it looks like mine would be about $80+ USD plus shipping.
Something to think about.

I finally have a use for the remote that came with my stereo. :)

The temperature dial (one on the middle) gets touched twice a year. Once in the summer and once in the winter. And yes, it's a wee bit of a bend to get to the fan control on the left. I never monkey with the far right dial which dictates where air blows. It's always set for vents and floor. But all in all, I am fairly happy with the mount, considering all the alternatives I tested out.

Your phone also is significantly smaller than mine so I think that ProClip mod would be perfect! My damn phone is a beast.

I think that holding a remote control for the sound system here (Ontario, Canada) could cost you $300-$400 (CDN) if you are caught :(.
Other than that ... enjoy!
Do you use WAZE GPS?

No need to hold the remote. Ozzy's Boneyard on XM is always LOUD!!! And no to Waze. Google Maps for me

I should have been more generic in my question.
What I meant is do you use GPS functionality on your phone and touch the screen surface?
Do you find it hard to find the sweet-spot when you are driving and the car is grooving to the tunes?

No need to touch the screen. I set up Google Maps with my destination prior to leaving and just follow the voice prompts while occasionally glancing over at the screen to get my bearings. The voice prompts talk over the music and if a phone call comes in it defaults to my bluetooth headset. Once the phone call is over the sound reverts back to my stereo system and truck speakers.

Right.
With me - a number of things could happen that would prompt me to need to touch the screen.
- I am going to client 'A' and then client 'B' calls and bumps 'A'.
I cannot foresee the traffic going to client 'B' and would want to re-route the GPS.
- WAZE's traffic is crowd-sourced so that if I see a slowdown, accident, etc. I might want to notify the server and other wazers.
- When I use the phone portion of the smartphone - that app goes to the top and waze is pushed down.
I want to 'minimize' the phone app and tap WAZE it bring it up on top so I can see the darn GPS!
- There are probably others but getting tired (1:30 am)..

You don't need a GPS you need a "co-pilot/rally car navigator!"
