A customer called me the other day telling me that her husband couldn't access his webmail. I figured this would be an easy 5 minute job & here I am 2 days later still trying to complete it. It probably did only take me about 5 minutes to log into his email, turned out he was using a wrong number in his email address.
After I figured that out I noticed they were using IE6 so I decided to upgrade to IE8. This is when the problems started. IE6 stored the username & password in the web form so it was fast & easy to log into his webmail. IE8 absolutely will not store either the username or password & won't even prompt to do so.
Things I've tried so far are, reset Internet Explorer settings from the advanced menu, delete the cache, cookies, history, passwords & autocomplete history, & make sure all autocomplete settings are enabled.
It seems many people are having similar problems with IE8 & IE9, but I couldn't find a solution anywhere. I imagine this has something to do with the enhanced security in IE8, there has to be a setting somewhere to fix this.
