Probably already around here somewhere.... but it's a classic.
I was joking with a NOC engineer the other day about going to a port and starting a water taxi service stopping at all the ships...
Please dont go beating on dogs or any other animal to test this theory....I have always preferred cats over dogs because "the loyalty patch" in a dog's brain often seems to outweigh all others. I have said, metaphorically of course, that you could beat most dogs to a pulp with a baseball bat in a fit of rage, provided it's only once, and they'll come running to you later like nothing happened. Try that with a cat and they'll attack you then, run as soon as the attack is done, and that "murder patch" will come to the fore later, and probably permanently.
I consider the latter behavior far more logical, reasonable, and "human like."
I still like dogs, but they'll never be my pet of choice.

Does the second conclusion follow from the first? Fascinating. I prefer dogs precisely because they are less human-like - haha. We had both (usually 2 cats and 2 dogs) for most of my adult life, only recently not opting to "replace" the last cat when he passed on. Since every pet was a "Rescue" we've had lots of different personalities, and overall I'd say that dogs prefer human companionship while cats merely tolerate it. I've always imagined cats saying that phrase from 'The Princess Bride': "Good night, good work, sleep well....I'll most likely kill you in the morning."I consider the latter behavior far more logical, reasonable, and "human like."

While much is too strange to be believed, nothing is too strange to have happened!

I love it!
