HP - no downgrade to W8 - my shorts (again)

I washed my hands of HP many years ago. They SUCK, and their laptops SUCK. All the dvxxx series are junk. in the mid 90's to early 2000....they had some solid products, nice printers...like the laser jet series II....

Now their computers AND their service is CRAP

There's a huge difference between HPs consumer range and their business range.
We don't touch the consumer stuff as it is all pretty crap but we sell heaps of business class hp gear and have never had any issues.

Support for the business stuff has always been excellent.

Yup..same here....
HPs business grade products are excellent.
HP Elite business workstations.
HP Proliant servers..'nuff said
HP ProCurve switches, wireless gear...'nuff said.
Support for those...good.
And of course...still ordering up Elite workstations for our clients with Win7p on 'em.

Start8 AND ModernMix. These two combined will make pretty much any customer happy.
Unless they particularly need Windows 7 for compatibility with older software or peripherals.

Double ditto on that. Their business products and service has always been excellent.

I think this can safely be said about any manufacturer. Dell's consumer line is garbage (not quite on HP's level though) but I love their business grade stuff. I'm pretty saddened to see Lenovo creeping into the cheap PC market now too.
