I have a VPS and practicing hosting my own website. I have WHM/CPANEL ready to go and I believe everything setup properly with godaddy AND my in my WHM.

I have been waiting since Friday evening for my glue records to register ns1.website.com and ns2.website.com its been more than 24 hours.

Does anyone know roughly from experience how long this should take? Godaddy says 4-8 hours. Does that include weekends or what? LOL

Sorry to be in a rush and not just wait the 72 hours but I want to get ripping my WHM apart ASAP. And it appears this question is not on google so me asking may help someone else out in the web.

Does anyone know which registrar can set up glue records faster? I plan on doing this over and over again with multiple junk domain names.

Thanks

Godaddy is a little longer than usual, seeing the time stamp of this post you're probably working by now. We use Godaddy for registration, but actually manage DNS in RackSpace ... because RS does DNS much better and has a far better management panel.

I don't have much frame of reference, but I've done lots of Godaddy and lots of Network Solutions. Network Solutions is the slow one of those two :)

Like Stonecat said, you are probably fine by now. There are web tools that will tell you what nameservers are being reported for your domain. I can't remember what they are called. Google DNS toolbox or DNS lookup.

GoDaddy is a notorious nightmare for propagations. I've repeatedly had it take more than 48 hours to refresh, which is one of the reasons I charge a hefty surcharge if my client already has a plan and insists on keeping it.

Ask doortodoorgeek over at Podnutz how long HIS DNS update took from GoDaddy a couple months ago. Total freaking nightmare.

My last two server sources always propagate within 15 minutes. (A Small Orange, Namecheap.)
