Hello,

I just add payment section on my computer repair services website I am sure I am not the first one come up with the idea but if any of you like to share an opinion or experience about putting a payment link to accept on line payment before or after the on-site service, I would like to hear it.

also am I missing anything on the content etc. any advice will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance..

Here is my computer repair website price and payment page: Chesterfield PC Support

I'm a Merchant Services reseller. I just got my own authorize.net gateway and merchant account set up. I'm set to handle recurring payments for my website hosting service, and I have some projects in the pipe that will result in monthly recurring revenue.

I have an SSL on my website, and I'm writing a Wordpress shopping cart plugin that'll work with authorize.net, paypal, Intuit payment solutions, AND it'll sync with Quickbooks Web Connect so you can create an invoice on your desktop Quickbooks, and when it syncs customers will log in and pay it on your website.

I like having the slightly more complicated setup because I can have full 100% branding and people stay on my website throughout the entire process.

I'm using Paypal. No monthly just pay as you go and it's secured. Paypal has an option where you can put the money on hold. Excellent for data recovery. They pay before I do the work. If I can not recovery then I just return the money with no service charge. Another option is to refund partial payment if I can only recover some but not all.

The feature is also great if you offer online support. I always ask for payment before I perform the online work for new client.

For now I think better to start with pay-pall and see how it goes. if I get Little success, I'll probably think of more expert way.

i think having a payment button on your web site is good for call outs if they dont have the money they can pay there and then with a card. Also its a good idea for remote support calls you just say ok now the job is complete please visit ......... and you will be able to make payment.

GOOD IDEA.

Been on my site for years, it's convenient. I also use Paypal and don't care about their fee's over a merchant, it's so easy to use for everything.

Where is the money on hold option? I been looking for prepayment but only seem to be able to do it with Paypal Payment Pro at £20 a month. Any info would be useful :)

I don't have Paypal Pro. On the payment action the default value is sale. Set the value to authorization to place a hold on the PayPal account for the authorized amount.

Then you have xx amount of days to process or return full or partial. On the customer side, it will show something like hold or pending. The fund is already allocated but no interest until you process it.. If you didn't do anything I think it will do automatic cancellation. (not 100% sure)

I've setup mine 3 - 4 years ago so I don't remember step by step. Someone already ask me before so you might want to search the forum. Or call Paypal for assistance.

It works really good for Data Recovery (that takes 2 - 3 weeks to process) and Laptop Screen replacement (that take 1 week to order). I get paid before ordering or doing the services.

Good Luck

Edited: Found the info for you. Check this out
