HESK or osTicket

Not sure how many of you out there would have experience with it, but I am a System Admin for a school district and need to either rebuild an old HESK or create a new osTicket system. I am leaning towards building something fresh and new, although it would be much easier to rebuild HESK and import the old configs.

I guess my question would be, "What ticketing system would you use to support around 900-1000 users?"
 
For a help desk aimed for use with one client/product, kayako or zeddesk are basically the best...but both are premium services. The tools, features and convenience they provide can usually offset their cost in the productivity they save.
 
I used Kayako at a helpdesk job many years ago, worked great, We had probably 2000 users. It was so easy to configure too. Love it!
 
Moved to osTicket at my day job as K-12 system admin, roughly 1300 students, 100 staff. Works great for us and it's FREE :) Great user community/forums for help also.
