Hear Ye Hear Ye A New Website is Made

Nice site :)

I have no real criticisms of it. Its well laid out and the information is easy to digest.

I like it a lot actually.

The only minor things I would change are the blue borders around the social networking icons - looks dated with the borders

Not too sure about the wording on the slider in regard to the blog: "Our Take~" didnt really gel with me. Im assuming that you are trying to get subscribers - if thats the case, a more explicit link to what you want people to do (the action you want them to engage in) may be more effective.

Great first draft though. Really nice work.

WOW!

I like that a lot, it's clean, very little clutter! Right down to the point. Did you build that in a CMS or from scratch?

Thanks for the quick note on blue border...you can go over things so much and miss some pretty trivial things!

The "Our Take" is sort of what I named the blog, but with your comments in mind I might go back and re-think that idea.

I built the site itself from scratch but the blog is Wordpress...I took the default Wordpress theme and customized the heck out of it, then included some Wordpress plugins into the larger site itself. For me I can easily go and edit raw code myself so I just use Wordpress for the blog so I can blast a blog post to Facebook and Twitter automatically when I publish a new article.

On the home page, the "Welcome" section, first paragraph ends in a broken sentence.

Just a pet peeve - include the actual numbers with your phone number, not just the word UPTECH.

On the Facebook page should something be there in the middle spot? I see the name of business, newsletter sign up on left side but nothing in the middle.

Interesting...it was working fine for the last few days. Facebook is dumping their custom coding stuff in favor of full-out iframes, so in order to get custom landing pages you end up having to create your own Facebook app, host custom code on your server...link stuff up. Crazy contraption was working flawlessly an hour ago.

Ya I know I do the iFrames stuff myself and just figured my browser was messed up. But, tried Mozilla also and still nothing.

Traced the issue to Facebook's page_proxy.php. The iframe tag that Facebook is using to launch my app for the Welcome tab is shown thus:

<iframe name="app_runner_4d8937dff22488d12267919" id="app_runner_4d8937dff22488d12267919" src="http://static.ak.facebook.com/platform/page_proxy.php?v=2#app_runner_4d8937dff22488d12267919" style="width:520px;height:800px;" frameborder="0"></iframe>

It seems that there's some bug going on right now with page_proxy.php

EDIT: The culprit is narrowed down to a new bug regarding a new user permissions scheme Facebook just rolled out: http://bugs.developers.facebook.net/show_bug.cgi?id=12521

Gotta love the "update to be better" that breaks stuff that used to work fine.

Should something else follow this?

I like the site though. Like the layout. I would also use that actual numbers under the UP TECH, but thats just me.

This is the life of the programmer...you work on something beautiful only to forget the mundane...and that's why I really appreciate your feedback!

I've taken care of the half-sentence on the main page, added the full number to the top of the screen, and it seems that Facebook got their act together and fixed the bug for the fan page.
