Got a Samsung NP300E5A laptop in running Windows 7 Home Premium (the same one that I needed the heatsink/fan assembly for if you saw my call for help in 'Eyes Only' recently).
After booting up, Google Chrome is taking over a minute to launch and become useable, in fact, around 70 to 85 seconds. Once launched and open, websites load just as quickly as they ever have done and you can also open new tabs quickly too. You can even close Chrome down and then relaunch it and that will also be just as fast, no matter how long the computer is on for - it could be on all day and you can close and relaunch Chrome quickly, any time you like and as often as you like. It's just that very first initial time that takes so long. For comparison, IE is taking about 20 to 30 seconds to launch and become useable.
What I've tried:
Any ideas?

What I've tried:
- Ran Memtest 86+ for 12 hours with no errors
- Ran GSmartControl extended test with no errors
- Ran Prime95 to stress the system and, now that I've replaced the fan/heatsink, all temps were within normal ranges and the system is rock solid
- Ran MBAM, MBAR, TDSS Killer, Hitman Pro, JRT, AdwCleaner, and Rogue Killer. Some things (no rootkits) were found and successfully dealt with
- Uninstalled/Reinstalled Chrome using Geek Uninstaller so that every little bit was removed
- Disabled Hardware Acceleration in Chrome (although I believe that was more of a fix for a similar problem in Win 8 rather than 7)
- Unchecked 'Automatically Detect Settings' in LAN settings
Any ideas?
