I have a dead power supply (FSP350-40UGBBD) from a MSI Aegis gaming computer. It's 350 watts. and is a custom shape that fits in the base of the tower unit.

https://plugloadsolutions.com/psu_reports/FSP TECHNOLOGY INC._FSP350-40UGBBD_350W_ECOS 4350_Report.pdf

I have read it is a 10 pin main and only manufacturers can buy those.

Googling around I found this:
https://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod...9dkPhAjplLOGhTpb-PxoC014QAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

But its not the same model number (although it looks like it will physically fit) but I think that has the 12 pin main.

Is this something only available from MSI? and do they sell directly? or is there an alternative?

Thanks!

Further info I found:
The 350w PSU in the MSI Aegis prebuild is an FSP 350-40UGBBD unit which is a proprietary PSU that output only 12V aside from the +5VSB rail. Things that may require the 3.3V / 5V rails are generated from a DC/DC convertor module that's integrated on the MBU where there are ports to power the ODD, SSD, and HDD.

From what I'm finding that is actually what is known as a Flex ATX power supply, which is actually a standard. The part number suggests that FSP is the manufacturer, just like the one you linked. However, I found the same PSU on Amazon and someone asked if this would replace the MSI PSU. Some say yes, some say no.

I would recommend posing your question to FSP, the manufacturer, just to be sure.

A search of that part number on their page turned up nothing. If I had to guess, that's a custom part made for MSI, but it follows the Flex ATX specs. Often manufacturers will get parts made cheaper specifically for them, cutting corners where they think they can. That is just a guess, though.

Very weird that MSI no longer sells replacements. The manufacturer of the power supply (fsp) said they don't have them.

I did find one place that says they will have them in stock on the 23rd. But to be honest that seems a little strange for such a seemingly specific product.

Anyone have any experience getting power supplies repaired?

Never done it. Well I thought about replacing caps in one but I would rather replace it with a new one better safe than sorry.

I did have a guy years ago, but I think he has since retired. Found him online. Only used him a couple of times because there's not a lot of call for it. He did good work, though, and wasn't overly expensive. That's about all I remember.
