Client has issues with WiFi printer being offline requiring pressing the buttons on the front the printer, or opening the printer settings in Windows to get it to connect. It also effects the scanner functionality. They usually can get it working but it has become a nuisance.

It worked fine up until the last few weeks.

Issue also occurs when printing from phones using WiFi direct.

Printer does not have an ethernet port and is used by multiple Windows PCs.

I was thinking of running a long USB printer cable and sharing the printer from Windows but that seems like it just make more or different issues.

A Google search suggested giving it a reserved IP address but I don't think the IP address has ever changed.

Is this just one of those cases where it makes more sense to get a new printer?

Sounds like a connectivity issue, you or customer didnt install printer using Wifi Direct?
I generally use the printer software driver not Wi-Fi Direct to install/connect wifi, more reliable in my experiences.

New brother printer if you can talk them into it lol.

I've sometimes had luck just deleting the printer in windows and then manually re add it using the ip of the printer...especially hp printers that has been effective for weird issues printing.

These are the worst. All of the ESPON tank printers have given me so much trouble. They seem to have tons of connectivity issues. I recommend the canon version since it works so much better
