Just a general FYI, I have for some time been recommending Fab's over my own solution. His app makes for a much more smooth and user-friendly experience, and to be honest I'm just tired of worrying about maintaining and improving the DataRestore portion of DataGrab, which can be flaky at times.
Details on the spreadsheet are quite dated, but to be honest the only major thing DataGrab does better is bypassing file system permissions, which Fab's cannot do at all, leaving you to ensure you have appropriate ownership/permissions over the user profiles before doing a copy.
While it should be trivial to run Fab's under the local system account with d7, to give Fab's the same abilities, however for some reason Fab's simply won't fire up under the local system account and I've not figured out why or discussed it with Fabrice -- but it would be nice to do. Maybe I will ask him to work on this...
On the other hand, Fab's if I'm not mistaken can work when run from a network share or mapped drive - d7/DataGrab must be run from a local drive if you want it to bypass file system permissions (due to the limitation of gaining access to the local system account, which cannot be done from a network drive.)
