I love making fun of the newbies on craigs. When I was out and running, of course I thought craigs would be a great place to advertise for free, then I saw the newbs out there selling their time for almost nothing. You can guarantee those guys don't have insurance either. They are the neighbor who knows a bit about computers and is the "neighborhood tech". You get what you pay for.
But I did try it, then I got weirdo clients who didn't want to pay! They constantly called begging for tips and I finally had enough. I took out my ads and said never again. I cruise my local craigs on occasion and found the other reputable companies stop using craigs and the Minneapolis comptuer services is basically plumb full of the guys who should be dealing with the porn stars of craigslist.
These guys I call "jimmyjoe@gmail" types. No website, no office, no credentials.

His site even looks legit, Provides an address for his shop and quite a few clients. His gallery page is personal pictures, I am sure I want to see his vacation pics when I need my computer repaired. His blog even shows some knowledge. Not sure how he is making it on those prices in NYC when I couldn't charge that and make it here practically in the middle of nowhere.
He is the home of the $10 10minute tune-up. right.
