As most of you know one of the most common questions we see on here is "What Procedure..." Today I found some computer repair procedures from a pretty reputable company in Comcast. They are not 100%, but a good place to start and get the ball rolling. Check it out here:

Malware Removal Guide
Diagnose XP - A Windows XP Diagnostic Guide
Driver XP - A Windows XP Driver Guide
Firefox Myths - Myths Regarding The Firefox Web Browser
Optimize 2000 - A Windows 2000 Optimization Guide
Optimize XP - A Windows XP Optimization Guide
Secure XP - A Windows XP Security Guide
XP Myths - Myths Regarding Windows XP
XP Secrets - Secrets Hidden in Windows XP

and more...

Maybe we can build on some of these and get a basic set of procedures outlined!

Interesting. It would be intriguing to see everyone's tactics. Obviously some of the info is going to be a trade secret, but sharing our processes helps us all to better optimize our own.

Thanks for that. Theres a couple of interesting reads on there. A few good links off those pages too.

I actually don't do anything in a procedural manner ... I make sure to understand the totality of the system in question, and how it's supposed to be. From there, I take what it is, and make it into what it should be. That's about all there is to it ...

The conditions of the computer repair are ordinary usually. From the very beginning you can consult an online computer repair service and tell the symptoms. As the most regular problems are connected with the network, messengers working, viruses, drivers, you might be helped in the online regime. If the computer repair problem is more complex, you might be advised to bring your computer to the shop or they can propose you a visit computer repair service.

Sorry, but this forum is for technicians, not end users. The comments you have made in this post, make me beleive, that you think the OP is a end user, and needs to take his pc to a repair shop. This post does not make any sense what so ever to me..

Reported for just copy/pasting from sites like "computerrepairideas" in every post.

I am not sure what your trying to say, in regards to the OP...

I found the read good with some very good links. Some info was a bit outdated, but none the less information is always good to have.

Thanks for sharing the OP.

I'd be hesitant to encourage using any sort of procedures in the first place ... learning concepts and working with them is much more flexible, and in this business we don't work with uniform systems, usually.

yes, it's called Operation Manual at my business. And it is trade secret for the most part (well, majority of the people know about the secrets in this manual anyway)
