Howdy folks,
I had a bad WD HDD 500GB , it had a bad sector so i cloned it to another good HDD WD 640GB. the new cloned HDD worked from the first boot and everything was working correctly , but what you know  i don't know why i decided to do Windows repair :p
since then it will not boot at all , i keep seeing windows xp pro and prog. bar scroll several times then it reboots :(

I tried to fixmbr, cfgboot, fixboot and chkdsk /p /r but no luck.

am opened to suggestion please :)

thanks in advance

Can't you reclone the drive and not perform a repair this time?

reclone sounds good, if not then you need to post with the BSOD details so we can get more info.

i used parmagic CD while both HDD were connected to my pc , so i am pretty sure i messed that one up too. i don't know what i was thinking, i wanted to fix it quick and because i didn't think about it look where i am now

so ****** at myself now

Ok is the old drive still working? Yes - No

If it is, take an image of the new hard drive as it currently is (just in case), format it, and then re-clone the drive.

or...

Press F8 after POST and select disable automatic restart on system failure. This will then display the BSOD for you to write down.

Or if you are super slick you can take a picture of the screen and email it to yourself then post it here. Old school screenshot :-)

ok question i don't need to set "disable restart on error" everytime? do i? that why i was asking to show me how to get the bsod info...errrrrr this issue make me see how stupid i am. anyways here is the bsod "0x000000CE(0xB71C8410,0X00000008,0XB71C8410,0X00000000) nv4_mini.sys
Driver_unload_without_canceling_pending_operation.

its my nivida card...but how can i uninstall it the driver and i can't login . time to flip some Live cds  which one?

any suggestions are welcomed.

p.s: thank you for the tip on the bsod....thu it made me feel so dumb and stupid hahhahahahahahah
thank in advance again

I would imagine you should be able to use any boot disk that allows you to see and edit the files on your OS drive. Then just delete the file and reboot. Windows should use a generic driver to get you back up so you can install new drivers from nvidia.
