Client Quickbooks issue

So I've got a client running Quickbooks 2016 Pro . The data file itself is on a share drive so that it can be opened from multiple computers. As of right now they only have 1 login. A simple admin user. (no password! wow!)

Now, here is the odd issue. If I open the data file on computer 1, click create invoice, right click the invoice number, and find all invoices, I see all invoices. Great.

If I open the same data file from computer 2, go to create invoice, right click the invoice number and click find all, I cannot see any invoices that have been made sine Jan 8th.

This is a problem because now they have computer 2 creating new invoices, with invoice numbers that were already created on computer 1 and saved to the data file.

Things I have checked so far...
-YES both computers are using the same data file.
-Both computers are logging in as the same user.
-Both computers are accessing the data file in multi-user mode.

Not sure what else to check or what could be wrong. ANY suggestions are welcomed.

Can you see ANYthing that computer 2 did...from computer 1. Make an estimate. Change the address of a customer..or add a fake customer.

Is it also visa versa? Create some things from computer 1...and then look at it from computer 2.

I know you said (in caps) that you are using the same data file...but if nothing shows up from the additional tests I mentioned above...you have to be using different database files.

And Quickbooks is installed and the services are running on the machine that the files are hosted on, correct? I'm sure QB checks for network shares on file open, but I've been wrong before.

I'll check into those suggestions. Another thing I am unsure of is I noticed there is some sort of Sync manager. Not sure what exactly it does, that was on my list of things to look into.

You probably have offline files enabled on the shared drive. So it is working with a cached file. In this case you would need to make a backup from that computer and then combine the two company files again.
