[Solved] Can someone help me out please?

I need an XP Pro OEM disk..... Mine was damaged and yeah i know... I didn't make a backup.... I never receive machines that require XP Pro Oem install disks... Always Home. Anyway can someone PM me If they can help.

If you have a retail Pro disk you can modify a PID to make it work with the OEM key on the case.

Go to The Pirate Bay and download Windows XP 9-in-1 by Sabresite. =]

It's a bootable disc that lets you choose to install nine different versions of XP. You can use it for OEM, Retail, Corporate, Upgrade, etc. You just need the correct key to go with each. It's a torrent download and you'll need some ISO burning software. If you don't have any, you can try MagicISO for free I believe. I prefer Alcohol 120% though.

Ok...now a legal answer. Replace the disc. If it's a valid disc, you can call Microsoft for a new cd at a fraction of the price, or sometimes just shipping.

What's illegal about that? It still requires a valid license key and is not a hacked version of windows. It's just a convenient installation medium.

Ya some people have told me that it is illegal but Microsoft doesn't really care. I don't really care either. If I can reinstall nine different versions of Windows with one CD that is what I am going to do.

And yes, it still requires a valid license key and there is nothing cracked or anything. It's all clean, original stuff.

You can also order restore disks for manufactured computers at http://www.restoredisks.com/ but I think it costs something like $20 + S&H

As far as I'm concerned, it's a grey area.
Modifying the pid, or downloading a 9-in-1 violates the EULA, so by definition is illegal.

Having said that, I don't personally find it objectionable...but if it's something I use for my business, or repairing other's computers, I avoid the grey area as much as I possibly can.

I guess I didn't mean it to sound the way it does.... I guess I just meant that's the "correct" and 100% legal way to get a replacement disc.

Thanks guys for all of your answers. I just used an old Dell XP Pro Disk and used their key to activate.... Not too much of an issue once I had the NIC Driver.
