Business solution for receiving faxes?

I got a question from a pharmacy that's preparing to receive 200+ faxes per day. They want to know the best way to handle that kind of load.

They tried using onebox.com at one time, but had a problem where it would lag - sometimes for hours - before they would receive the faxes.

Has anyone used hosted faxing solutions like Biscom's? I know very little about telcom, would this be something better handled by one of those companies?

So far as connectivity, they currently have some POTS lines and Cable internet.

Thanks for any help!

GFI Faxmaker running on a dedicated fax server. If they really need to kill trees then you simply need a high end fax machine. Or even more then one. Many high end copiers/document management are also able to handle faxes. Several can have more then one fax line installed so you can have roll over lines for faxes.

How about creating a system to handle this. that the user will scan/email the file and will be received in the office sorted out. In the office we have scanner that has email capability.

PBX In A Flash w/ IncredibleFax!

You could set them up with a PBX either in a VM on an existing machine, or as a standalone in a small Atom PC and configure it as just a fax server. From what I've read and seen, it will handle as much volume as you need it to. I use IncredibleFax on my own PBX and love it... for your pharmacy customer though, it will depend heavily on how they need to use it. Like nline said, if they need everything on paper they might be better off with a high-end multi-line fax machine.
