Need to delete a windows password, (user forgot it) and have the tools to do it - but have to boot the laptop from cd to do it. Problem is this laptop is not set to boot from cd and has a password protected bios too! And customer forgot that too (imagine that). So, any ideas as to how to delete a windows password if you are unable to get to the cmos to make the cd bootable. I have read about a couple of tools to blow away the bios password, but remember, can't boot from cd. Also, a little afraid to try this on a customers machine in case something goes wrong. Stumped on this one....

Need more info on the laptop and BIOS.
Could be anything from removing the CMOS battery, either disconnecting it or unsolder from the board or shorting a jumper. Some older toshibas need a parallel port dongle, and some need an EEPROM removed and reflashed.

There are back doors that you can exploit depending on the version of Windows that you are running. Are you running XP, Vista or 7?

BTW, this can be done on another computer.
