A software that fixes computer problems - interesting

Looks interesting. I just downloaded it for fun. We'll see what goodness it does. I have a problem PC at the shop I wonder if this thing could take care of for me. If he can fix it, he's hired lol. :D

Scary concept for us Comp Technicians. IMO

"users will be able to make the fixes themselves for free, or they can pay for a service that will automatically fix problems."

^^

'ReImage' has tried doing something like this before, but failed miserably. I don't feel threatened by this, and even if the software is a resounding success, people will still pay me to do work for them because they won't know how to use Soluto

I tried microsoft's fixit beta it actually does not fix anything i had a machine the microsoft update did not work as a test this thing is kind of worthless its nothing more than windows troubleshooter online lol.
Funny thing Soluto is better than microsoft at fixing problems with windows they might as well drop fixit and buy Soluto.

That was painful to read, but nonetheless, I typically don't trust Microsoft to fix their own problems.

Threatening?

Hell I'd be using this to fix PCs.

As will almost every technician / user who knows about it.
If it does "work" it can be a hinder to business if it really works.

Kind of a catch 22. You want it to work for you but not the public. hahaha

What a world this is today. Gee lets come up with a even lazier way of fixing computers shall we? The computer tech world would be cut in half if GUI had no come out. Don't get me wrong i love GUI and advancements in our industry but come on. Every little kiddy scripter thinks hes a computer tech now a days.
Kinda pathetic.

Don't panic! If personal computers and software had delivered on every promise that was made for them when they were released there would be no need for PC Technicians today. It's an interesting concept, but to be successful it'll need to deal with all manner of computer problems. Virus and malware writers do not write to a manual or defined protocol, they change their game at every opportunity to keep ahead of the game, to be successful magic-bullet fixes like this will not only have to successfully predict what's coming next, they'll have to have a means of dealing with it.

Correct but this program can easily become another "combofix"

The makers of Combofix continue to be right on the heals of the virus & malware makers. Consistently updated multiple times a day with a very high rate of removal success. Resulting in loss of business to computer repair shops.

There is an article somewhere out there on how combofixx and malwarebytes have taken a percentage of business away from pc shops.

Combofix certainly doesn't fix everything, and it cannot carry out any diagnostics. Don't forget the writers of Combofix always present a warning before it runs, under certain circumstances it could do more harm than good.

It's very good tool, but it's not and never was intended to be an absolute solution.

Correct, but i never said it fixed everything. I was using it as an example.
It does not fix everything but the chances are that it will remove whatever nasty is in your system are very good. If this program was as marketed as Norton I guarantee you we would all see less virus removals come through our doors.

That is my point. Chances are this program is crap and wont work.

I don't expect this to solve every, or even most problems, but it's a good start. I see this as a faster, more accurate "Google the problem" method of fixing computers.

Its says that its a beta? how in the world did you download something?

Huh, never mind. It seems to be working now.

Did you try PC Repair at http://reimage.com ?
i enter the client's computer and run reimage remotely, it's saving my time to come to the location. It's happened frequently that i run couple reimages on client computers concurrent.

Another BS software that will not work when it is released for public. I wouldn't worry about it one bit.

And lets say that it will work 100%. How many people will know about it? How many people are comfortable using it? How many people will ever remember it when problems comes up? Will it work once the virus hits the PC and crashes everything?
