Seeking Managed Service Writers at Technibble

Shares

As we continue to expand at Technibble, we are looking for writers to join our team to write about Managed Services. We are only looking for the right people, people who are in it for the long term.

I realize that some people have a lot of time and other people dont, what I am after from writers is a basic understanding on what sort of a commitment I can expect from you and we will schedule accordingly. Anything extra is a bonus.

What we AREN’T looking for:

  • We aren’t looking for full time writers: While all of our writers are encouraged to write as often as they can, we don’t offer enough compensation to support you full time. I don’t want to misrepresent what we can and cant do.
  • We aren’t looking for people who just care about the money: All Technibble writers are compensated. If you think you are going to get rich writing for us then it isn’t going to happen. Right now we pay on a per-article basis.
  • Writing for SEO Reasons – We arent looking for people who are looking to write an article or two for a backlink to some site. We are looking for long term writers to join our team on an ongoing basis.

What we ARE looking for:

  • People who like to help others – The best thing about writing for Technibble is helping a large amount of our peers and having your work read by hundreds of thousands of people per month.
  • Dependable people – We need people we can rely on. If you say you are going to do something, do it. We will be talking with every writer to get an idea of how often you can write.
  • Solid Writers – While we are all techies and like to help people, you also need to have good writing skills. We can clean up some errors with our proofreaders but if it takes more time to fix the article that it would to simply write it ourselves, it isnt a huge help.

Topics:

While our writers can propose the topics they want to write about, we are particularly looking for people who would like to write about:

  • How to get business clients – This could be about how to approach them & market to them
  • How to sell products and services to business clients – How to sell Managed Services and how to price contracts
  • Software to support managed clients – What software to use to support managed service clients
  • Handling Managed Clients – How to handle problems, how to avoid them initially

How to Apply:

Please send an email to hiring[at]technibble.com and answer ALL of the following questions:

1) Tell me what experience you have (both in Managed Services and Writing)- While writing experience isn’t necessary, its nice to be able to see that you can write. A link to existing work would be helpful if you have any.

2) What topics would you like to cover? – This can be one (or a few) of the topics we mentioned above or something different along the same line.

3) What are your expectations from the site? – If you have a minimum amount you expect to make, now is the time to say it. And any other expectations beyond monetary compensation. “It depends” isn’t a good answer.

4) What are your requirements? – (financial or other)

5) How often can you write? – This question is really important. I am looking to know things like are you a fast writer, a slow writer etc.. Can you do multiple articles in a day, or do you need a week to build up something?

6) Any questions you may have – Pretty much everyone has a question and its better to ask than guess or assume.

There will more than likely be follow up questions but this should be enough to get the ball rolling. Please remember, while we all like tech, writing for our site is a commitment.

I came across your site and newsletter a few years back and it has been great. Found the articles helpful and the tools very valuable. Another site and service I use is Spiceworks (www.spiceworks.com)and, if you are not partnered with them you may want to be. You will find lots of IT people that can write and contribute to your newsletter and blog…thanks.

Would you accept to link back to the MSP that author is working for?
