it is not open internet access, it is password protected.If you allow open Internet access (with at least OpenDNS filtering) then many phones will auto connect and, crucially, will remember the SSID in the network list. I am always seeing where I have been through the SSID list.
I might not allow an open WiFi connection without Internet access - it will annoy people if their phone jumps onto your WiFi only to find it does nothing.
So all they can see is the SSID
When they click on it, they are required to enter a password (a simple, yet "impossible to guess" password)
the point is when they sit down and order food, they will inevitably pull their phone out while it cooks (because people are rude these days) so when they try to connect to a wifi connection, they will see my SSIDs on the list but they cannot connect to it.
