Windows Xp Resolution Help

I have a client that brought me their computer today.

It looks to be freshly reformatted. Theres no icons on the desktop...nothign at all.

Well anyways, he tries to switch the resolution but it doesnt let u slide the bar at all. It stays on 640 x 480 and the color quality is medium 16 bit.

Is it the XP Version?
 
Do you have the latest drivers for the graphic card/onboard graphics. I've seen this problem when you don't have the graphics card drivers installed.

Ive never encountered this problem before..
Ill update drives right now and see how that works out ..ill keep u posted.:rolleyes:
 
it occurs for nearly any reformat uless the hardware is reallly old and windows has the drivers for it on the disc lol. itll be drivers for sure

well since im usually the one to reformat computers i make sure to update the drivers as soon as i reformat but since this one came reformatted it slipped my mind..lol
