Yes these are legitimate links; they are not cracked editions or altered in any kind of way or any of that. digitalriver is what Microsoft used to distribute ISOs for people who buy their software online without a disk.

This is where I got my Windows 7 disks from :)

Thanks done a lot of google searching and there are 1000's of pages on forums talking at this. Would be great if I can get the job done today I could do with every penny due to an accident with my savings and being £100s of short of my tax bill! (saved the tax money, now I just need beer and rent money :D).

I better drive to ASDA in a bit to get a blank DVD as I have ran out. I shall wait a bit for the rush hour go down.

There is an easy way of doing it by changing the config file but I may as well just store all the ISOs, I have plenty of hard drive space.

Using the windows 7 CD now it appears to work so far.

I'm with you, sandvtech. I have access to virtually every Microsoft ISO released through my Technet subscription. What I DON'T have is any real way to download Dell, Compaq, HP, etc. ISOs for various operating systems.

Now that I would love to see!

That would be nice.

Do you have any for xp and xp media center edition?

If you look at the mydigitallife.info site it will show you the hash check so you can tell if they are legit copies or not. You can also get the hash check from the Microsoft site.

You can google Windows 7 Repository and find the link that tells you everything. But do not follow everything it says because they also will tell you how to crack the windows 7 so you can run an illegal version.

XP MCE is hard to find. Luckily I have an OEM copy I paid for back when I built my media center.

You can go to the manufacture. ie Dell, HP. Sometimes they will ship them to you for free but normally it cost. You can also go to RestoreDisk.com. They have most all of them from what I have heard. I have never used them but have come close. They are around $20 each from them. The only reason I have never used them is because they mail them to you and it can take a few days. I wish they offered iso. I would love to get iso for each version and each company. This would be real nice. They I would stop using my dell disks for every install.

I used one of these tonight on a Dell. It looks like it works fine but it won't activate over the internet. You have to call the automated service, an extra 10 minutes but W7 is such a quick install it doesn't feel that troublesome.

I agree 100%. It would be nice to be able to download manufacturer ISO's. Microsoft must stop them from doing this as it would be cheaper for them to distribute this way as well.

As of 05-07-2011 the Digital River link provided does not appear to work anymore. Not a big deal as TechNet is the way to go.

I still don't know why people want to use original OEM disks when generic OEM disks work better, are not bloated, and work on everything.

Is it just so you don't have to install drivers. You honestly should be getting updated drivers anyway rather then the stuff that comes on the restore disk.
