So, windows 7 machine. (running a windows 7 compatible scanner - windows 10 wont work here)
latest microsoft security updates (since about august last year) causes a spontaneous reboot (no bluescreen, just straight to black screen and bios) when ALL of the following conditions are met.
if we turn off DHCP server, and the machine does not pick up a working IP, it works fine.
if we hard code IP, without a gateway? fine
just unplug network? fine
Boot to logon screen without logging in? fine
uninstall the security update, works fine.
we have tried multiple net cards with no change
Client says he wont be needing the device this machine is controlling for much longer and not to worry about solving issue, but it is personal now.
Thoughts?
TIA
