Will PCUnlocker (or other) reset a user account previously connected to a domain?

Excuse me for my ignorance but I'm pretty sure domain connected stations store their credentials locally in the event that the DC is unavailable for login. I have a laptop that has been in storage for some time that I'm being tasked to recover data and documents/email off of.

I know that I can extract the drive and pull data that way but if the email were stored in Outlook through exchange I'd like to get into to export that OST into a PST.

Halp?

I'm rather hoping that it can't do that... because if that avenue is open the purpose of a domain is seriously frustrated.

But if the drive isn't encrypted, you can just lift the files yourself.

Yes, PCUnlocker will reset the local account password of a Domain client. It can also reset the admin password of the DC.

If the DC for the domain still exists, and the user has not been deleted on the server, just made inactive, you can reactivate the user on the server, change the password, plug it up in the network and login.

Agreed but the laptop was shipped to me from an attorney that is not local. The only reason why he asked me to do it is because I had previously done discovery work for one of my clients for him as his attorney.

The laptop hasn't been turned on in over a year ... I'm thinking if it is exchange then I'd only be after whatever was cached. I honestly don't even know what email they use (might even be AOL for all I know LOL) I'm just trying to minimally impact the laptop while being able to access the user account.

Note: You can simply "Bypass" the password for a single session (PCUnlocker). This modifies the Windows subsystem at load time, in memory... as opposed to 'changing' the password forever.
