Hello

I am a technician in Dallas TX, just starting up.

I wanted to ask you where can I purchase all versions of windows Os's original cd's to reinstall on clients computers with their serials, coa?

Windows 98, XP, Vista, 7...

I know I can download a few from Microsoft Technet, but need the cd's

Thanks

You can get almost every copy of OS from technet. You download the ISO, then you burn it to CD and DVD.

As also mentioned, you're going to need the Dell, HP, etc. versions too because OEM keys only work on OEM media.

Never had that problem myself, I find COAs nearly always work.

With XP, the CD type MUST match the COA (e.g. retail, OEM, volume license). For example, if the customer has a retail COA, then you MUST use a retail CD to do the install, else it won't activate.

No such constraint with Vista or 7.

This is correct, however joydivision is also correct when he said that you do not have to have an HP disk and a Dell disk. These are helpful because if you use a Dell disk on a Dell computer then you do not have to put in a Key but as long as the computer has it's COA then you can use any OEM disk on these. Before I had my whole collection of CDs I use to use Dell disks for HPs, Toshibas, Gateway, etc. You just have to put in the key when you activate it.

Yep. If the truth be known, I generally use a Dell OEM CD no matter what PC I've got. When it comes time to activate, the auto activate fails due to incorrect key, then type in the key from the COA and all is good to go. I've had to do a phone activation less than 5% of the time.
