What Would You Do When They Refuse To Pay ?

Well thats the thing hes the owner of the place, its a pet store. I did contact him a few to many times and I kept getting excuse after excuse, and I'm not about slandering him to the people he works with its very un-professional. I mean it was bad enough he had my attorney call and do the whole collection speal to his associate. So I can only imagine what the people who stayed on the phone thought.

You cannot legally go to this guys house, place of employment or anything..
If you do, he can actually press harassment charges against you.

The only thing you can do, is call the police, press charges for theft. And this is exactly what I would have done.

Let me rephrase this part, and the first he was suppose to be a I.

In terms my guy called and asked for him, but instead have having a real person speak it was a recording, so its not like we knew who picked up just that someone picked up and triggered the recording to play. So going with a attorney I'm going to assume what he is doing is perfectly legal, and the advice he gives me is perfectly legal.

Hey bud, we all agree with what you state, but the situation here is the guy walked out with the computer when the tech turned his back. Some of the posts say to send the guy a letter. I say, call the cops, press charges, the guy committed theft.

Whoops. I gotta stop reading and responding to these threads after 8pm. Yeah I totally agree on calling cops. If I had someone walk out with a computer I'd do that. If the cops aren't interested, there's always small claims court, which is very eager to award judgments when the defendants don't show up.

You also can't leagally take your repaired laptop and ditch out on your payment....But, that didn't stop him.

I'll stand by my "Personal Discussion" method, and if the cops show up, I'll deal with that when it happens...

As for worrying about him knowing where my shop is, should I show up as his place... Oh well. I don't think he'd be coming back around, and if he did, he'd be even worse for the wear. Not pumping up the chest here, just not concerned about that stuff. Been there, done that.

If someone flat out takes their computer and basically runs out of my office when I turn my back or step away, I'm calling the police. Certified letters my rear. Guy we have to start running our businesses like real businesses and quit acting like a bunch of pansies worried about loosing a customer or two, which will probably never happen. (I'm guilty!)

Try going into a nice restaurant, ordering a $100 meal and then sneaking out the back door while the waiter goes and gets your ticket. Go up to the gas station and fill your truck up with $75 worth of fuel and just driving off. Go to the local bakery and custom order a double layer birthday cake for your kid's party and just walk out when the baker turns their back. See how many certified letters and phone calls you get. You might get a phone call (if they have it) as you are in your get-away car (LOL) but after that, they aren't going to call and try to kindly negotiate a payment. The police will be called and will be charged with theft. Plain and simple. It's theft. They are a criminal.

I'm sorry I just have no use for this sort of thing. I can't worry if a thief is going to bad mouth me or not. I'm right, he's wrong, he stole and I'm getting paid or he's going to pay in court.

I'm so mean.:D

+1

would also like to add so many worry about bad mouthing but what to stop same person telling everyone "hey goto xyz store get you pc repaired then just walk out the door they wont do anything" before long you will have every lowlife in town trying it on.
