what its the best software for remote services?

If they would give Anydesk the function of knowing when your partner was back online after a reboot (like TV) it would be perfect. Or, maybe they have added that feature by now. It is very convenient to be able to tell at a glance in your client list - who is online & ready to connect.
It kinda does, but not like what you would think. If a customer is online and you have it set for Unattended Access, then when you run AnyDesk, it will show only those that are online.

I've always used an have been a fan of Teamviewer, but think I will check out Instant Housecall. Price is right and seems to have a lot of features (now to see how well they work.)

Having Tried Many of the Remote Support tools available, I must conclude that the most efficient and tech build choice is ScreenConnect, however I realized the price did increase quite a bit since they were bought out by ConnectWise. I f anyone wants to try a basic remote tool for free, here a 2 somewhat new tools: Wayk Know https://wayk.devolutions.net although there is a paid version and Iperius Remote http://www.iperiusremote.com

First time I've heard of Iperius Remote, looks interesting...(the blank password entry seemingly implies the operator can enter his own, which is misleading; once hitting 'connect' , the app issues a random 4 digit password, which changes each usage, i see...)

Can't really find any licensing terms on the website at all; as is, appears pretty much 'open season' to use, both Private Use and Commercial, barring any licensing terms that prohibit either or both...?

Edit: found some 'terms and conditions' at the bottom of the website, but has no real personal/commercial use limitations/provisions stated that I could find.

I'll give it a test, internationally..... :)

Iperius I've known for backup software in the past. Since there is a paid small/medium/large version of the remote software I'm wondering what is lacking in the free version? In turn, so many remote app companies start out free and once they have some momentum/customers they change their model to all paid.

Team Viewer is a pretty solid option.

No one will argue that Team Viewer isn't a solid option but at the current $600/yr subscription fee it is expensive and there are much more economical options out there.

Now that TeamViewer has gone full subscription mode, I'm going to be staying with my permanent version 11 forever. Screw 'em. I paid about $800 for a lifetime license and that's what I'm going to get. I'm not going to pay forever for the privilege of using a product. The "software as a service" model is as ridiculous as paying every month FOREVER for your new kitchen counter tops.

I haven't heard anything (yet) from Teamviewer regarding "a yearly" subscription fee?"
After my initial purchase fee, which was not unsubstantial, the ongoing costs are only for major version updates - like version 11 to Version 12 - which cost me AU$249.00.
Incremental updates (like I got today) are free.
I've constantly run into problems where a client has purchased version 9 or 10 for instance, and refused to pay for updates, so I cannot connect to them because their version is out of date.
The only way around it is for them to download the latest free version of 12 but then we have problems with the 5 minute timeout.

They rolled out the subscription BS to the UK first. Then to the US. I guess they haven't rolled it out to Australia yet. If you don't have the latest version, I suggest you buy it ASAP. Right now since I have version 11 they want to give me a "discounted" yearly rate of $37.50/month for the first year and $50/month for each year after that. SCREW THAT!

My "exclusive" offer is $27.50 billed annually. I already had the 12 upgrade I got last year. Yeah I hate subscription model too.

I have a clickonce script that downloads teamviewer and kills the existing processes, they would need to be in IE or have the clickonce extension or whatever its called in chrome if that even still works. It has been a while since i've tried it. You can try it at http://www.wi3.us/launch to confirm it still works for newer teamviewers, let me know if you want me to send you the files, im sure i even have the source code laying around some where.

Edit: if you don't mind the generic computer repair tech business name, i dont mind you linking customers directly to it either.

Edit2: it should still be the old tv5 remote so shouldnt auto add ID to my tv list (unless they added that function to work with the old ones)

Sorry it was a typo. Mine is $27.50 too.

The thing that I hate the most about subscription based software is there is absolutely NO incentive to innovate or make a better product. In the past, software companies had to make you WANT to upgrade so they could get paid again. Not anymore. Now no matter how big of a stinking pile of crap it is, you'll be paying for it FOREVER if you want to use it. Mark my words. Microsoft Office won't be getting any real upgrades. I bet 20 years from now it will be basically the same as it is right now.

I have been trying out some remote supports lately so if i decided on Teamviewer my customers would need to pay for it also, in order for me to use it?
