I will be all alone (with 4 cats and the dog) this Christmas (no violins please @NYJimbo, lol) so I bought myself a nVidia GTX 1050Ti for my game rig so I can catch up on some gaming!

So far this season I bought myself 2 Aveda oils, a SoClean machine for my cpap, a new lamp that hangs over my nightstand (make room for the SoClean!) and I have a friend coming for Christmas. We are doing a Vegas Christmas, 3 days of debauchery. I've had company once a month for the past year, it's about killing me here.

so do i, so to recomfort myself, i bought this:

Mine is shipped with the i5-8250U + 4Gb RAM +1Tb HDD, fngerprint reader and backlit keyboard.

Then i upgraded it by adding a 256gb SSD m2 Pcie and replaced the 4gb RAM by 8Gb.

But MS sucks , so when i wanted to move the EFI partition from the HDD to the SSD , i cant put it before the system partition but only after...

Tough go this year, wife was in Aruba with a friend and her retina detached. Sooo...for the past week...I'm working from home...tending to her. Looooong and boring recovery process, have to remain face down for ~23 hours of the day. Gas bubble treatment in her eye.

Nice..I borrowed one for about a month from a buddy of mine, for a site survey for a point to point wireless project. Had a blast cruising around my neighborhood with it...range over 4 miles or something like that. Incredible features!

I remember back mid to.late 70's my dad had 2 x detached retinas. operation needed on both eyes. surgeon placed what can only explain as half crescent shaped sponge under his eyeballs.

rest needed for 6 months min. them reduced hours at work.

No fictional fat guy required here. I'm buying myself a new Threadripper 1950X + Gigabyte X399 as part of my year-end tax write off spending. Yes, I will be using it for work primarily, but that doesn't mean I can't play the occasional game on there.

I banned the fat guy (an hotel employee disguised a Santa at that time ) when i was 5 years old, he asked me to write a wishlist of what i wanted for Christmas.

1- i asked some Playmobil or Legos.
2- Christmas came, opened my gift, it was a silly girly marionette...huge disappointment. (Now i can understand the mistake, my first name is both male an female)
3- buried the marionette under the snow. Santa disbeliever ever since.
