Ok, I think I have things where I want them. I tried to strike a balance between simplicity and informative.

Go ahead....fire away!

FYI. My rates are based on taking an average of the repair shops in my area. I'm currently sitting at what I believe is 70% of that average.

Just a couple of quick things. First - on your rates page, the link to download the Computer repair request form is broken.

Secondly - I wonder if you should indicate the date that you pulled the rates off from the 3 sites you use for comparison. That way, as their rates change, you don't necessarily have to update yours immediately. Alternatively, do you want to actually list the store names? Perhaps just a generic statement like compared to 3 large box stores...

Just my thoughts....

Brian.

Should be working again now. Thanks for catching this. :D

I'm still on the fence about whether or not I should use the store's names. I don't want it to appear that I'm dumping on the competition. However the information is factual. I may change my mind depending on others perceptions.

Thanks for taking the time to look it over and giving your input!

A couple of other thoughts - and I am by no means an expert on web pages, so others will probably give you better suggestions. I'm mostly looking at the mechanics, not layout, color scheme, etc.

1. I would consider making the Computer Service Request form a PDF, rather than a word document. A couple of reasons. First, what if a customer does not have MS Word? Secondly, and more importantly, it gives you a measure of control. What if a customer edits your terms of service before printing? Are you going to read through to verify? Having it be PDF protects you from that.

2. On you sales page - when I click the link it takes me to the listing. However, I would probably have it open a new page or tab instead. That way, when they close that page or tab, your page is still in front of them. Also, consider doing it in a window with no navigation. I would think that would help to insure they get back to your page.

Again - not an expert at all, but I hope it's helpful!

Oh - I am intrigued by your open/closed sign. A question, though. What will you do on holidays? Is there an easy way to have it change to closed on those days, or will it, for example, list you as open on Christmas?

Brian.

Simplicity and clarity is a winner imo.
Good job on that.

I don't really like your main image, real photo have a greater impact, this looks like an oversized clipart.

Is your SEO a work in progress here ?

Title tag is the most important of all tags for SEO.

Rates :
I tought you were going for simplicity ?
People really come in for software installation ?

That's why I prefer hourly rate, much more simpler and clearer to clients.

Very good suggestions!

PDF for the form. Absolutely. I can't believe i missed that.

Opening to a new page would definitely be the best choice.

The open sign was just something I saw and decided to try. I had my hours posted in a chart before, and stated "closed on holidays" listed below. I may just go back to that.

I agree on the images. They need to be improved. It looked naked, so i put something in temporarily.

As for SEO. I haven't really made much attempt at it as of yet. I'm currently reading a few books and forums. Not a subject I know much about so I'm still educating myself

Again, thanks for all of the input. I really appreciate you taking the time to critique my site.

Forgot about the software price.

No, people don't come in for just software installation. But too many times they have brought in a stack of 6 programs for me to install for them when they have a hard drive/Windows upgrade.

I'm more than happy to install your Microsoft Office Suite, Works, or your favorite computer games. But it's not a part of my basic Installation.

suggest you read this section of the Forum in some depth.

There is plenty of information here (arguably the best resource anywhere for what you are doing, bar none) but its all been said before and many of us who do know this stuff dont feel inclined to repeat ourselves over, and over.

Your site needs a lot of work.
