Vista File Association Broke

Problem: Some how, my client's husband changed the file association on her computer. Now I thought this was on the desktop shortcuts (she uses too many) and went over figuring ... in and out ... easy money.

It turns out that he changed A LOT of .exe programs so that when you click on desktop OR in Windows Explorer tree, it would open Adobe Reader. So I could not open Avast, IE7, Quicken, Quickbooks and many more. Thought I would have to do a "Repair" on her OS, but found this site on another computer.

Thought I would post up the link that saved the day. I have not read all his posts but will after this link had my fix:

Hope this can help some others if this comes up.
