I have a Dell 5820 Work Station running Window 10 and it has TPM 1.2 installed. According to Dell Website, it is upgradable to TMP 2.0 and they have the software file to do it. I have followed all the instructions to complete the upgrade but as the firmware starts to upgrade it chokes with an error message that it "failed due to FW policy." Searching the internet, there doesn't see to be any knowledge of exactly what that means or how to get around it, even though many are having that problem. I have a second Dell 5820 I bought used and it has TMP 2.0 installed and is running Windows 11. When I "clear" the TPM to start the process of the upgrade the clearing process is supposed to delete the pin used for login, necessitating logging back into the computer after reboot and using the username password method. I suspect I am not clearing the TMP even though the process assures me it is cleared . I tried clearing via the BIOS and also from the OS and also from Powershell commands.
